Reliance announced that the search engines Google and Jio together will launch cheaper 5G smartphones in India.
Mukesh Ambani said that the search engine Google will buy 7.7 percent stake in Jio platforms of Reliance Industries of India. This will lead to an investment of Rs 33,737 crore in Jio platforms.
Group Chairman Mukesh Ambani said at the 43rd AGM of Reliance Industries that Jio has prepared a 5G solution, which can be offered to customers by next year.
Consumers will start getting 5G services when 5G spectrum will be made available by the government. He said that after providing the 5G spectrum from the government, Jio Platforms will also export 5G solutions to other telecom operators in the world.
Now, it will be interesting to see how Jio brings 5G smartphone with Google. And how powerful it will be compared to the already existing handsets in the market.
Google already sells premium handsets of Pixel brand. At the same time, and Reliance brought the Life smartphone at the time of the launch of Jio 4G, but it did not get any good response in the market.
