REAL MEDRID CLOSE TO SPANISH LEAGUE TITLE, BEAT GRENAD

Real Madrid made a strong move to win the Spanish Football League La Liga title by beating Granada 2–1, they now need only two points. Real Madrid scored their ninth consecutive win. With this, Zinedine Zidan's team are four points ahead of second-placed Barcelona while only two rounds of matches are left. Real Madrid has won each of their matches after their comeback.

Real Madrid would win his first title since 2017 with a win over Villarreal CF on Thursday. If Barcelona loses against Osasuna, Real Madrid's title will be confirmed. Real Madrid will also be able to win a record 34th title in the Madrid League by playing a draw in the last two rounds. Real Madrid currently has 83 points in 36 matches while Barcelona has 79 points in the same number of matches.

 Mendy scored his first goal for the Spanish club in the tenth minute. Six minutes later, Benzema made the score 2–0. Darwin Machis scored a goal in the 50th minute for Granada to reduce the margin of defeat. 

Meanwhile, Villarreal's 2–1 defeat to Real Sociedad secured Sevilla their fourth place in the Champions League. With this defeat, Villarreal fell nine points behind fourth-placed Sevilla.
