Sitting arrangement asked in IBPS PO Prelims 2019- Detailed analysis

Direction: Read the following information carefully to give the answer to the questions based on it.

Six people J, K, L, M, N and O are sitting around a circular table facing the centre. They like different colours i.e. pink, red, green, blue, white and yellow. N is an immediate neighbour of the one who likes red. K is sitting second to the right of N. One person sits between K and the one who likes yellow (either from the right or left side). N neither likes yellow nor red. Only two people are sitting between the one who likes yellow and L. J sits third to the right of the one who likes pink. J neither likes yellow nor red. Only one person sits between J and the one who likes white (either from the right or left side). O sits to the immediate left of the one who likes green.

Solution:

First of all, read the sitting arrangement carefully, and try to find the exact information given.

  • There are 6 people- J,K,L,M,N, and O
  • They are facing inside the circle
  • They like the different colour- Pink, Red, green, Blue, White and Blue
  • It's a two-variable sitting arrangement.

Now put the information given in the puzzle.

  • N is an immediate neighbour of the one who likes red.
  • K is sitting second to the right of N.
  • One person sits between K and the one who likes yellow (either from the right or left side).
  • N neither likes yellow nor red.
  • Only two people are sitting between the one who likes yellow and L.
  • J neither likes yellow nor red.
  • sitting arrangement

  • O sits to the immediate left of the one who likes green.

From this information O only can sit in the immediate left of N or in place of yellow in fig. 1( but can't sit in the immediate left of N because, if placed there, no place left for J because J sits third to the right of the one who likes pink.) and right of N in fig. 2.

  • J sits third to the right of the one who likes pink.
  • Only one person sits between J and the one who likes white (either from the right or left side).
