Direction: Study the given information carefully and answer the questions given below.

Ten boxes P, Q, R, S, T, A, B, C, D, and E are arranged in a stack from top to bottom (where the one at the bottom is numbered as 1 and the one at the top is numbered as 10 ) but not necessarily in the same order. Boxes that are kept at an even-numbered position contain different fruits such as apple, pear, orange, litchi, and kiwi. Two boxes are kept between the box which contains orange and Box A. The box which contains orange is kept at either 8th or 10th position in the stack. Box R is kept above Box P but below Box S. Total number of boxes that contain fruits below and above the box which contains kiwi is the same. Box A is above Box T but not immediately above. The number of boxes kept between box A and Box T is the same as the number of boxes kept between box T and Box D. The box which contains pear is kept above the box which contains litchi. Box C is kept immediately above Box Q. Only three boxes are kept between box E and Box D where Box E is kept above box D. Box D doesn’t contain Kiwi. The box which contains apple is kept below Box T but not immediately below. Neither box R nor box Q contains Pear. Box B contains apple. The box which contains orange is not kept immediately above Box E.

Solution:

Start with direct information given in the puzzle.

1. Boxes that are kept at an even-numbered position contain different fruits such as apple, pear, orange, litchi, and kiwi.

Two boxes are kept between the box which contains orange and Box A.

The box which contains orange is kept at either 8th or 10th position in the stack.

10 Fruit orange

8  FruitOrange
7             A
6  Fruit
5                    A
4  Fruit
3
2  Fruit
1

The total number of boxes that contain fruits below and above the box which contains kiwi is the same, Means kiwi is in box no. 6.

8  FruitOrange
7             A
6  Fruitkiwikiwi
5                    A
4  Fruit
3
2  Fruit
1

Box A is above Box T but not immediately above. The number of boxes kept between box A and Box T is the same as the number of boxes kept between box T and Box D.

4  Fruit              T
3                     T
2  Fruit
1                    D             D

Only three boxes are kept between box E and Box D where Box E is kept above box D. Box D doesn’t contain Kiwi. From this data, column 1 becomes incorrect. So will continue with column 2

10 Fruitorange

8  Fruit
7            A
6  Fruitkiwi
5             E
4  Fruit             T
3
2  Fruit
1             D

The box which contains apple is kept below Box T but not immediately below.  Box B contains apple.

from these two data, Apple is kept just above box D

8  Fruit
7            A
6  Fruitkiwi
5             E
4  Fruit            T
3
2  FruitApple    B
1             D

The box which contains pear is kept above the box which contains litchi.

10 Fruitorange
9
8  FruitPear
7                      A
6  Fruitkiwi
5                      E
4  FruitLitchi             T
3
2  FruitApple            B
1                     D

Box C is kept immediately above Box Q.  Box R is kept above Box P but below Box S.If we put box C in Box 9 then ( Box R is kept above Box P but below Box S) this statement becomes false. so box C will be in no.10

10 Fruitorange       C
9                  Q
8  FruitPear          S
7                  A
6  Fruitkiwi            R

4  FruitLitchi         T
3                 P
2  FruitApple        B
